Padri
(07-1) Oil 20 x 16
Private Collection
One of Baba's "Pillars of Meherazad," Padri's stern demeanor hid a great heart. Painted from a photograph by Isabel Ellis taken in the mid 70's.
Padri headed the construction of much of Meherabad, including the Samadhi. Because he reminded Baba of a Spanish priest, Baba gave him the nickname "Padri" and called him one of his main pillars of strength. This painting was done from a 1974 photo taken in India by Isabel Ellis.
Since 1979 Charlie Mills has made over 250 paintings of Meher Baba and His Mandali.
