My Great Uncle   (08-1)   2008
Acrylic on Canvas   52 " X 40 "

One of a new series of paintings which, in minimizing surrounding space and design elements, focuses more intently on the features of Meher Baba's face - the greatest design of all. Yet the warm personal expression reminds us of His immediacy - hence the familial title.

Rahuri  1938   (94-2)   1994
Oil on Canvas   52 " X 40 "
$5000 unframed

Rahuri is the location of Baba's first mast ashram where He contacted spiritually intoxicated souls.

Baba with Cracker  (00-1)   2000
Acrylic on Canvas   54 " X 46 "
Private Collection

Pets were a natural part of Baba's surroundings, including Mehera's Scottish terrier named Cracker. Here Meher Baba hugs Cracker at the resort area, Mahabaleshwar, in 1946.

Untitled   (04-6)   2004
Oil on Canvas   20 " X 16 "
Private Collection

The brush allows the rendition of delicate detail and nuances of shadow, color, etc. Sometimes the artist tires of such narrative expression. The painting knife makes a more suggestive form and encourages the viewer's eye to complete the image.

The Awakener   (04-7)   2004
Oil on Canvas   24 " X 20 "
Private Collection

This image comes from a photo of Meher Baba taken in London in 1931. Another painting of this pose, made by Charlie Mills, is in Baba's bedroom at Meherazad, India.

Padri   (07-1)   2007
Oil on Canvas   20 " X 16 "
Private Collection

Padri headed the construction of much of Meherabad, including the Samadhi. Because he reminded Baba of a Spanish priest, Baba gave him the nickname "Padri" and called him one of his main pillars of strength. This painting was done from a 1974 photo taken in India by Isabel Ellis.

Eruch   (09-2)   2009

What can one say of Eruch, the one chosen to speak for the Avatar?

Meher Baba once said, "I invite man to break through all of his self created prisons, and taste of the unlimited life which I bring."

The Ancient One   (04-8)   2004
Oil on Canvas   20 " X 16 "
Private Collection

Here Meher Baba's appearance is similar to our idea of the face of Christ. Baba said this similarity is not really accidental. This image is from the year Baba began keeping silence - 1925.

Meher Baba 1956   (04-5)   2004
Oil on Canvas   20 " X 16 "
Private Collection

Meher Baba in London 1931   (05-1)   2005

Oil on Canvas   30 " X 24 "
Private Collection

Guruprasad, an estate in Poona, was donated for use by Baba and His mandali for several hot summers. Many followers came here for periodic darshan programs. This is one of a very few of the artist's paintings done with both brush and painting knife.

Lake Grass   (S03-4)   2003
Oil on Canvas   8 " X 10 "

Lakeside at Meher Spiritual Center, in earshot of the pounding surf, awaits a quiet retreat. Lovely and peaceful Long Lake - perhaps the most healing waters of all.

Boathouse & Bridge   (S03-2)   2003

Owned by Alexandra Marks, this boathouse oil painting found its way to her writing retreat - an old Connecticut farmhouse.

In this commission, the client requested an ocean at sunset for the background and the merging of two photographic images of Baba - one from the East, one from the West.
